Volunteering

Association for Women Action and Research (AWARE)

Association for Women Action and Research (AWARE) are working on individual,
community and staten level to provide specialized support for women, educating the public on gender equality, and promoting equitable laws and policies. AWARE is looking for volunteers for a variety of positions.

Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations

Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations  have volunteering opportunities for their Star Shelter, New2You Thrift Shop, their IT hub. Also provide volunteering opportunities for corporations.

The Lions Befrienders

The Lions Befrienders are always looking for “befrienders”. Befrienders are volunteers who conduct weekly (or more frequent) home visits with senior members of the society. Lend support, accompany them to doctor visits or remind elderlies to take their medication are just some of the responsibilities.

It’s raining raincoats

It’s raining raincoats, provides direct support to migrant workers. Apart from funding, they value your support in the form of direct assistance, providing care packs and food, donate pre-loved items. Also, you can teach a migrant worker additional language skills like English (distance learning).

HOME

HOME (Humanitarian Organization for Migration Economics) is dedicated to supporting and empowering migrant workers who suffer abuse and exploitation. HOME provides direct assistance, legal aid, skills training, and research and advocacy. It operates two help desks, a shelter, and an Academy for domestic workers and assists around 2,000 migrant workers each year. HOME relies heavily on volunteer support.

Willing Hearts

Willing Hearts is a secular, non-affiliated charity. Willing Hearts is wholly run by volunteers, apart from a handful of staff. It operates a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes about 5,000 daily meals to over 40 locations island wide, 365 days a year.

HealthServe

HeathServe, works to serve disadvantaged migrant workers in Singapore through healthcare, counseling, casework and social assistance. They need volunteers from the medical industry such as doctors and nurses. Also in social services, more project specific support and for ad hoc opportunities.
